Located on the second floor of Clarke Quay Central is this Mongolian BBQ buffet joint, which includes an in-house musollah and serves both Mongolian and Chinese fare. Don’t miss the make-your-own-laksa station, and the endless spread of chilli crab. Lunch, which starts from 11.30am to 3pm, goes for $18 per person on Mondays till Thursdays, and $20 per person on Fridays till Sundays. Students and senior citizens dine for $1 less.

2. Al Jasra

Al Jasra isn’t just the cheapest halal, Muslim-owned buffet spot in Singapore. It is the cheapest buffet spot, period. The only catch is that instead of the usual nosh, you get endless plates of prata. At just $7.90 per person (excluding drinks), you’re free to feast on its 16 prata varieties, which cover the classics and the less common flavours such as strawberry and cheese prata at this 24/7 restaurant.

3. Captain Kim Korean BBQ & Hotpot

Another one for the East siders, Captain Kim Korean BBQ & Hotpot offers more than 60 ingredients, a free flow of drinks, and a diverse selection of broths to choose from. Besides these DIY options, this Korean eatery has cooked dishes as well, such as japchae (glass noodles), sweet potatoes and fried chicken. Certified as halal since March 2019, it charges adults $16.90 for a weekday buffet lunch ($13.90 for students and seniors), and $26.90 for a weekend buffet lunch and a weekday buffet dinner.

Feeling left out as a west-side dweller? Fret not. Chickata Makan Place, situated in Jurong East, will keep you satisfied with its Thai-style BBQ and steamboat buffet offerings. What’s more, this halal-certified restaurant closes late (1am on Fridays and Saturdays), making it a perfect supper joint. Buffets here last 90 minutes, and start at $19.90 per person for the Classic buffet. An extra $5 will also get you a cheese dip.

Known formerly as Daessiksin, Hanssik is one of the many F&B brands under the Ministry of Food. A Korean BBQ spot with three outlets in Singapore, it features a mouthwatering array of 12 types of marinated meats and vegetables, which you can savour against the restaurant’s backdrop of Seoul-inspired decor. The newly halal-certified restaurant’s lunch buffet (from 11.30am to 4.30pm) is priced at $15.90 on weekdays while a weekday dinner (from 5.30pm to 10pm) costs $24.90.

A five-minute stroll from the Tai Seng MRT station will bring you to The Flame Cafe, a western fusion eatery and popular wedding venue whose interior design has won an award. Mosey over to this east-side, halal-certified outlet for its Instagram-worthy four-tiered, pagoda-style steamboat. The first tier features two different broths, while the second tier boasts a savoury display of BBQ delicacies. A tantalising cheese dip (exchangeable for a salted egg dip for a few extra bucks) occupies the third tier, which is followed by a platter of steamed food at the top. Prices start from $19.90 per person for a weekday lunch.

You may have guessed from its name that this restaurant serves Indonesian classics, but what you may not know is that it comes with a Dutch twist. Instead of a typical buffet, you will be served 14 to 20 small dishes on metal food warmers, which can be topped up free-of-charge. The right way to indulge in these plates is to start with the lighter appetisers before diving into the spicier delicacies such as the rendang and curry. Aside from its alcohol offerings, this restaurant is fully halal.
