OCBC 365 credit card benefits from 1 November 2026

What's getting better

The headline upgrade is a single 6% rate across the four biggest everyday categories. Dining goes up from 5%, and fast food now counts as dining. Groceries and land transport, including SimplyGo bus and MRT rides, double from 3% to 6%. Petrol stays at 6%.

The cashback cap matters just as much. You now get the S$160 monthly cap at the S$800 minimum spend, so you no longer need to hit S$1,600 to earn more than S$80 a month. The rates apply to eligible in-store and online card transactions, both in Singapore and overseas.

What's getting cut

Recurring telco and utility bills, EV charging and streaming subscriptions fall from 3% to 0.25% from 1 Nov 2026. If you've been putting these bills on your OCBC 365 card, it may be worth moving them to another card before November.

Watsons gets a longer runway. It keeps 3% cashback until 31 March 2027 and drops to 0.25% from 1 April 2027.

OCBC 365 credit card minimum spend and cashback cap

You'll need at least S$800 in eligible spend in a calendar month to earn the 6% rates. If you fall short, all eligible spend that month earns 0.25% cashback.

Because the cap is now S$160, you'd need about S$2,667 a month in 6% categories before you hit it. Most cardholders will never reach the cap, so the real test is whether you can reliably hit S$800.

Here's how a S$1,200 monthly spend works out under each structure:

Category Monthly spend Current cashback From 1 Nov 2026
Dining S$400 S$20.00 (5%) S$24.00 (6%)
Groceries S$350 S$10.50 (3%) S$21.00 (6%)
Land transport S$150 S$4.50 (3%) S$9.00 (6%)
Petrol S$150 S$9.00 (6%) S$9.00 (6%)
Telco and utilities S$150 S$4.50 (3%) S$0.38 (0.25%)
Total S$1,200 S$48.50 S$63.38

In this example, you'd earn about S$15 more a month even after losing the bill cashback. If most of your spend is bills rather than dining and groceries, though, you could end up earning less.
