Why choose Allianz Travel Insurance

Allianz offers single-trip, annual multi-trip, family, and Schengen travel insurance options. This ensures all individuals are accorded a level of protection suited to their destination and budget. Allianz’s individual plans tie maximum benefits to a named person on the Certificate of Insurance, while maximum benefits on family plans apply per insured adult. Another key difference between individual and family plans is that dependent children typically share benefits within the insured adults' limits.

Allianz Travel Insurance coverage details

Overseas medical expenses

  • Up to S$100,000 for adults 70 years of age and older.
  • Coverage includes sub-limits for dental care, hospital cash and continuation of treatment in Singapore.
  • Allianz's coverage remains the same if you have COVID-19 cover, unlike other providers which may lower benefits related to COVID-19.

COVID-19 coverage

Coverage for Overseas Emergency Medical coverage is the same even if you are diagnosed with COVID-19. Though AIG’s Overseas Emergency Medical coverage is much higher at S$2,500,000, this gets lowered to S$300,000 once you have a COVID-19 diagnosis. With Allianz, you'll get the same coverage regardless of whether your condition is related to COVID-19.

Allianz extends their COVID-19 protection beyond medical areas so you can benefit from Trip Inconveniences coverage too. This entitles you to the same Trip Inconveniences coverage, regardless of whether you have COVID-19.

Though Allianz may lag behind in areas like local medical expenses, its COVID-19 coverage is robust compared to other insurers. For instance, TIQ’s Overseas Medical Expenses coverage drops from S$1,000,000 to S$500,000 once you have a COVID-19 diagnosis — that is, if you have purchased their COVID-19 add-on. Another thing to note is that Allianz’s select COVID-19 cover also extends to other epidemic and pandemic diseases.
