UOB has an extensive credit card loyalty programme that gives out UNI$ to customers when they spend on selected credit cards. In this guide, we discuss which cards let you earn UNI$, how many points you can earn, and what you can do with them.

Overview: UOB Rewards Points

UOB Rewards Points are known as UNI$, and are awarded on eligible transactions with selected UOB credit cards. Besides credit card spends, UNI$ are also awarded as sign-up bonuses, and you can earn bonus UNI$ when transacting with participating merchants or selected spending categories.

UNI$ are awarded for every S$5 spent, so this may account for minute differences between how many UNI$ you’re expecting and the actual amount you receive. They are redeemable for air miles, vouchers and cash credit to offset your bills or purchases, making for a pretty versatile perk.

What can you do with UNI$?

Convert UNI$ into air miles

You may convert your UNI$ into KrisFlyer miles, Asia Miles or AirAsia BIG Points to redeem plane tickets, purchase seat upgrades or pay for other perks.

For KrisFlyer and Air Asia, the conversion rate is 1 UNI$ to 2 miles, and conversions are carried out in blocks of 10,000 miles. This means you’ll need at least 5,000 UNI$ to make an air miles conversion.

For AirAsia BIG Points, you can convert 2,500 UNI$ for 4,500 points.

How to convert UNI$ into air miles

Once you have sufficient UNI$, you can request for them to be converted to KrisFlyer miles or Asia Miles by filling in this online form. Each conversion will cost a S$25 fee and will take approximately 14 working days.

Meanwhile, AirAsia Points may be redeemed at the UOB rewards page – simply select how many blocks of points you want to convert, and check out your shopping cart.

Automatic conversion of UNI$ to KrisFlyer miles

KrisFlyer members may opt for automatic conversion of UNI$ to miles by filling out the enrolment form. Once enrolled, UOB will perform an automatic conversion at the end of every calendar month, provided there is more than 15,000 UNI$ in your account. If there is an insufficient points balance, no conversion will take place for the month.

Automatic conversion of miles is done in blocks of 2,500 UNI$ (5,000 KrisFlyer miles). This service will incur a S$50 fee, paid annually.

Redeem Instant Rewards

UNI$ may also be used to directly offset your purchases at participating merchants.

To do so, simply present your eligible UOB credit card when making a payment and choose to offset your payment by the amount available to you.

You can also purchase vouchers for participating brands using UNI$, and then use them to pay the next time you’re in store.

Do note that Instant rewards redemption is not applicable for UOB American Express, Singtel-UOB, UOB JCB and UOB Union Pay Credit Cards, and redemptions may not be cancelled.
