DCS CASHBACK Credit Card offers a 5% cash rebate (capped at S$50) on minimum S$400 spend per month. This is a respectable rate as far as cashback credit cards go – comparable to cards like DBS Live Fresh

Moreover, S$400 monthly spend is a relatively low minimum amount where the typical spend requirement ranges between S$600 to S$800 for mid-tier cashback cards (POSB Everyday Card, Citi Cash Back Card), and S$1,000 to S$2,000 for upper-tier cashback cards (e.g. UOB One Card).

And what sets apart DCS cards from other banks’ credit cards is their S$500 Limit Card option. It reflects similar features as its regular card counterpart, but for a lower minimum spend cap of S$500. In DCS CASHBACK card’s case, although their S$500 Limit Card offers only 2% cash rebate (capped at S$10), the minimum spend is lower at only S$150 per month.

So it seems that the DCS CASHBACK Credit Card is suitable for those with a tighter budget, prefer to keep monthly expenses low, or are beginners to the credit card scene.

Want a reliable, no-frills cashback card that you can swipe away at all your purchases? Then the DCS Ultimate Platinum Card is a good candidate.

Offering up to 2% unlimited cashback with no minimum spend* and no cashback cap on all spend, this credit card follows a blacklist merchant exclusion format. This means that all your expenditure is qualified for cashback unless they fall under a merchant exclusion category like hospitals (MCC 8062) and tax payments (MCC 9311).

You can find the full list of merchant exclusions here.

But this begs the question: If you already own a standard cashback card, why would you need an unlimited cashback card with a substantially lower cashback rate? For those familiar with unlimited cashback credit cards, you’d know how useful they actually are for purchasing big-ticket items and relatively fuss-free spending.

💡 Pro-tip: Some unlimited cashback cards like UOB Absolute Cashback and AMEX True Cashback reward you with cashback on insurance premiums, school fees, healthcare and utility bills, and more!

Not to mention, this card is also numberless to offer maximum card security against stolen personal data. And lastly, you’ll get to enjoy benefits like complimentary Sands Rewards Lifestyle Elite tier membership, up to 15% off Agoda hotel bookings, and up to 10% off duty free shops in over 100 international airports.

*Valid till 30 June 2023 only. Min. S$200 spend per calendar month is required to qualify for 2% unlimited cashback after that.

Calling all Sheng Siong lovers! If you thought the POSB Everyday Card was good, you might want to add the DCS Sheng Siong Credit Card to your roster as an alternative.

Again, it’s available in both the regular card and S$500 Limit card options.

For the regular Sheng Siong Card, you can expect to earn a 5% Rebate$ on your bill of up to S$1,000 spend per month per card account. Meanwhile, on the Sheng Siong S$500 Limit Card, you’ll earn a 2% Rebate$ on your bill of up to S$500 spend per month per card account.

The total Rebate$ you could possibly earn per card account is 5% of S$1,000 for the regular card and 2% for the S$500 Limit card. Thus, the maximum Rebate$ earned per month is capped at S$50 and S$10 respectively.

Knowing that POSB Everyday Card imposes a Daily$30 cap on Sheng Siong groceries, a savvy shopper would switch – or at least, alternate between – the two cards depending on which card’s limit you bust first.

We all know that driving in Singapore is getting more expensive these days: COE prices are at an all-time high, costs of car maintenance aren’t the cheapest, and fuel shortages continually cause petrol prices to skyrocket.

Thus as a driver, you’d want to get your hands on any sort of credit card rebate. Whatever can help with shaving some fuel costs, car maintenance servicing, and easing road tax repayments definitely goes a long mile.

With the DCS VICOM Credit Card, you’ll receive 26 VICOM$ rebates annually for VICOM services, complimentary 24-hour roadside recovery services, up to 23.2% savings on fuel at Esso petrol kiosks, 0% interest on road tax instalment payments, and more.

💡 Pro-tip: The DBS Esso Card is another Esso-exclusive petrol credit card offering up to 21.2% fuel savings. You can read more about it in this article.

In our opinion, the Diners Club International Credit Card and Diners Club International Charge Card function more as default rewards credit cards than anything. If you notice their list of Diners Club Privileges, this host of benefits is actually applicable for all other DCS credit cards too.

So no matter which DCS credit card you sign up for, chances are, you’ll be entitled to these same perks regardless. Thus, we only recommend the International Credit Card and International Charge Card if you’re looking for:

  • Extra personal accident and trip inconvenience insurance coverage on your holidays, or
  • Want to become an honorary Diner’s Club member

Otherwise, you’re better off applying for the other DCS credit cards that offer their own unique rebates like cashback or miles on top of these existing Diner Club Privileges.

Best DCS rewards credit cards for dedicated merchants

In total, there are seven DCS rewards credit cards catering to different merchants: DON DON DONKI, Delivery Chinatown, Long Beach, Mustafa Centre, JP Pepperdine, POPULAR, and Nu Skin.

But for the interest of time and relevance, we’ll only cover a few of the more useful rewards cards out of the bunch.

1. DCS DON DON DONKI Credit Card

Product Summary: Fees & Charges

Regular card
S$500 Limit card
Rebate rate
5% Rebate$ of up to S$1,000 spend per month per card account
2% Rebate$ of up to S$500 spend per month per card account
Annual fee

S$30.52 (1st year waived)
Minimum annual income requirement
Singaporeans & PRs: S$30,000 or S$15,000 (55 years old onwards)
Foreigners: S$60,000
Singaporeans & PRs: S$16,000 (except students & NSFs)
Valid from 18 years old onwards
Minimum payment
5% of outstanding balance or S$50 (whichever is higher) or full amount if below S$50
Late payment charge
S$80
Interest charge
27% p.a.
28% p.a.
Overlimit fee
S$50 per month if Total Indebtedness > Credit Limit
Cash advance fee
6% of cash advance or S$20 (whichever is higher)

Number one on our list is the DCS DON DON DONKI card. This is fairly self-explanatory because it seems like the whole of Singapore adores shopping at this wildly-successful Japanese supermarket chain.

For the regular DON DON DONKI Card, you can expect to earn 5% Rebate$ on your bill of up to S$1,000 spend per month per card account. Meanwhile, on the DON DON DONKI S$500 Limit Card, you’ll earn 2% Rebate$ on your bill of up to S$500 spend per month per card account.

The total Rebate$ you could possibly earn per card account is 5% of S$1,000 for the regular card and 2% for the S$500 Limit card. Thus, the maximum Rebate$ earned per month is capped at S$50 and S$10 respectively.

All in all, this rewards card is particularly useful for those who live near or prefer to do their grocery shopping at a DON DON DONKI outlet. Plus, this card is the cutest out of all the DCS credit cards, so it gets extra bonus points.

2. DCS Mustafa Credit Card

Product Summary: Fees & Charges

Regular card
S$500 Limit card
Rebate rate
5X Mustafa Rewards per S$1 spend (including instalment plans) where 10,000 Mustafa Points = S$12

Bonus 8,000 Mustafa Points for card usage within 30 days of card issuance

0% instalment plans of up to 36 months on selected Mustafa Store purchases
  • Min. purchase amount (6, 12, 24 months): S$300
  • Min. purchase amount (36 months): S$500
Annual fee
S$196.20 (1st year waived)
S$30.52 (1st year waived)
Minimum annual income requirement
Singaporeans & PRs: S$30,000 or S$15,000 (55 years old onwards)
Foreigners: S$60,000
Singaporeans & PRs: S$16,000 (except students & NSFs)
Valid from 18 years old onwards
Minimum payment
5% of outstanding balance or S$50 (whichever is higher) or full amount if below S$50
Late payment charge
S$80
Interest charge
27% p.a.
28% p.a.
Overlimit fee
S$50 per month if Total Indebtedness > Credit Limit
Cash advance fee
6% of cash advance or S$20 (whichever is higher)

This is another rewards card that needs no introduction. Fans of good bargain hunting would know that Mustafa Centre is one of the best shopping centres to score ridiculously cheap deals in Singapore.

Personally, I’ve bought a bottle of Buffered Saline Solution for only S$2.40 – I know, I was in disbelief too.

That aside, the DCS Mustafa Credit Card rewards you with 5 Mustafa Points per S$1 spend in-stores, inclusive of instalment plans. When you do the conversion, every 10,000 Mustafa Points earned can be redeemed for S$12 to offset your next bill.

But not only that, you can earn an easy bonus of 8,000 Mustafa Points upon simply using the card within 30 days of its issuance. Just top up your spending by about S$400, and that’s your next 2,000 Mustafa Points collected, bringing you up to a total of 10,000 Mustafa Points.

💡 Pro-tip: The DCS Mustafa Credit Card is a decent replacement for the OCBC Titanium Rewards Card because the latter no longer rewards bonus 10 OCBC$ for grocery purchases (MCC 5411) from Mustafa.

3. DCS POPULAR Credit Card

Product Summary: Fees & Charges

Regular card
S$500 Limit card
Rebate rate
5% Rebate$ of up to S$1,000 spend per month per card account
2% Rebate$ of up to S$500 spend per month per card account
Annual fee
S$196.20 (1st year waived)
S$30.52 (1st year waived)
Minimum annual income requirement
Singaporeans & PRs: S$30,000 or S$15,000 (55 years old onwards)
Foreigners: S$60,000
Singaporeans & PRs: S$16,000 (except students & NSFs)
Valid from 18 years old onwards
Minimum payment
5% of outstanding balance or S$50 (whichever is higher) or full amount if below S$50
Late payment charge
S$80
Interest charge
27% p.a.
28% p.a.
Overlimit fee
S$50 per month if Total Indebtedness > Credit Limit
Cash advance fee
6% of cash advance or S$20 (whichever is higher)

Lastly, we’ve got the DCS POPULAR Credit Card – the rewards card that every parent with a primary school kid (and above) should take advantage of.

By now, you know the drill of how the 5% and 2% Rebate$ rates work respectively. But just to reiterate…

For the regular POPULAR Card, you can expect to earn 5% Rebate$ on your bill of up to S$1,000 spend per month per card account. Meanwhile on the POPULAR S$500 Limit Card, you’ll earn 2% Rebate$ on your bill of up to S$500 spend per month per card account.

The total Rebate$ you could possibly earn per card account is 5% of S$1,000 for the regular card and 2% for the S$500 Limit card. Thus, the maximum Rebate$ earned per month is capped at S$50 and S$10 respectively.

Enjoy up to 10% off your purchase at POPULARSource: DCS

If you’ve made it this far into the article, first of all, congrats and we appreciate you. 🥂

Secondly, this Diners Club International Ace Credit Card is our recommendation for students and young adults applying for their first credit card. Why?

By default, this credit card only comes in the S$500 Limit Card variation which is perfect for those with a smaller monthly expenditure or self-imposing a spending limit.

Moreover, it allows cardholders to withdraw S$100 to S$300 on cash advance for 12-month instalment plans. This feature might prove helpful for students wishing to take out a student loan – although in general, we don’t necessarily recommend using your credit card for cash advance unless necessary.

Nevertheless, this card offers the same slew of Diners Club Privileges as all the aforementioned cards in personal accident insurance coverage, travel inconvenience coverage, and rewards points and redemptions.

DCS Card Centre credit card (“Diners Club”) benefits and privileges

Now that we’ve spoken about all the available DCS credit cards, what benefits and privileges do they offer to cardholders?

1. Diners Club Privileges

As showcased multiple times in this article, the Diners Club Privileges consist of four main perks:

  • Up to S$1 million insurance coverage for personal accidents
  • Up to S$250,000* on-flight personal accident coverage and travel inconvenience reimbursement
  • Access to 1,300 airport lounges in over 140 countries worldwide
  • Earn Club Rewards Points to redeem privileges (e.g. shopping/dining vouchers) and air miles (S$1 = 1 point)

*Amount subject to change

Upon signing up for a DCS credit card, you’re automatically eligible for their complimentary Lifestyle Advantage Plan. Within this plan, cardholders will be covered for accidental death & permanent disability, flight delays, baggage delays, journey cancellation, loss of travel documents, and more.

While these coverage aspects are decent, you’re still missing key coverages like medical benefits. Therefore, the Diners Club Privileges are only good as supplementary insurance coverage if your existing plan’s coverage is insufficient.

Other than travel insurance, gaining access to nearly 1,300 airport lounges worldwide is definitely a sweet perk. Although basic cardholders should note, that this complimentary access is limited to only once per year.

And of course, we can’t forget the Club Rewards promos and deals. For example, you can get 18% off worldwide accommodations on Agoda for bookings made from now till 31 March 2023. The stay period is valid until 31 December 2024.

Other card benefits

Withdraw cash from any ATM

One surprisingly useful benefit that DCS credit cards offer is the ability to withdraw cash from any ATM bearing the Diners Club logo and/or other logos of participating ATM network providers in Singapore. This includes ATMs from Citibank and DBS/POSB and nearly 1.2 million DCI Global ATMs.

What’s more, you’ll earn 1 Club Rewards Point for every S$1 withdrawn.

No, every DCS cardmember is automatically enrolled on the programme. But you do have the option to opt out by contacting DCS through email or phone.

#3 What happens if the ATM machine does not dispense any cash or the input amount I wanted?

Seek assistance from the relevant ATM’s bank or call the ATM’s Help Number listed on the side if it’s after banking hours or you’re at a standalone ATM. Be sure to take note of the amount dispensed (or lack thereof) and keep the receipt to formerly raise a dispute with the ATM’s bank.

Withdrawing cash at an overseas ATM will be treated as a normal overseas transaction. Foreign currency (FCY) fees will apply along with a conversion commission of 3%.

#5 What is the miles conversion rate for Rebate$ Points?

The points-to-miles conversion rate for DCS is 4,500 Points = 1,000 KrisFlyer Miles.

Conclusion: Are DCS Credit Cards worth it?

The strengths of DCS credit cards lie in their card option variety, complimentary insurance plan, S$500 Card Limit variant and a few others. But in totality, its credit cards don’t exactly offer the highest rebates in the market.

In fact, they don’t even offer a proper miles credit card, only miles redemption in the form of Rebate$ conversion and some travel insurance coverage.

The only noteworthy DCS credit card to consider would be their cashback cards – DCS CASHBACK Credit Card and/or DCS Ultimate Platinum Card

DCS Cashback Card New_Sep2023

The former offers up to 5% cash rebate for only S$400 minimum monthly spend, a notably lower spend requirement than most credit cards. Meanwhile, the latter offers the highest unlimited cashback rate of 2%, without any minimum spend or cashback cap.

💡 Pro-tip: The only other credit card with a lower minimum monthly spend requirement is the Maybank Horizon Visa Signature Card. It rewards up to 8X TREATS Points or 3.2 miles per S$1 spend on selected categories, for only S$300 minimum spend.
