Here are six established car tyre workshops in Singapore with great prices, promotions and bundles for drivers to maintain or upgrade their tyres, wheels and rims.

Unsurprisingly, the parts of your car that are most vulnerable to damage are the tyres and rims.

Besides being worn down from daily use, car tyres can also degrade if you fail to maintain the correct air pressure. Then, there’s the ever-present danger of getting a puncture, whether from running over something sharp, or due to an act of mischief.

Driving on under-inflated or flat tyres can also cause damage to your rims — especially if you run into bumps on the road.

More often though, it is careless driving that damages your wheels — mounting a kerb or driving over gravel can scratch your rims. In serious cases, it can even cause your rims to crack or break.

Hence, you’ll want to make sure your car’s tyres and rims are in tip-top condition, and to help you with that, here are our pick of six car workshops in Singapore specialising in all things tyres and rims.

Chen Jin Trading has been a specialist in tyres and rims since 2005, and with such a long history, you know this isn’t some fly-by-night workshop.

They offer a good range of tyres and rims, including from popular brands such as Dunlop, GoodYear and Bridgestone, and also newer producers such as Kumho and Westlake.

What’s great about this workshop is that they regularly hold sales and promotions, such as the recent 3.3 sale, and the Chinese New Year promotion prior to that. If you’re quick, you can swoop in on some good deals this way.

Besides selling tyres and rims, Chen Jin also offers a range of essential car services, such as tyre and rim replacement and repairs, computer-aided wheel alignment and wheel tightening, balancing and rotation.

The company offers several brands of tyres, including market leaders such as GoodYear, Dunlop, Continental and Toyo Tyres.

As for rims, Arrow Tyres has an extensive range of sports and classic rims over at their Carousell page, in case you want to have a look online before visiting their outlets. Prices are reasonable, and they also offer trade-ins for your old rims.

Stamford Tyres has been serving the needs of drivers in Singapore for multiple generations, being established all the way back in the 1930s.

The company has grown from a humble car workshop located in Stamford Road (hence the name), into a globe-spanning organisation with outlets in over 30 countries.

It is the principal distributor for Falken, Dunlop, Continental and Toyo Tires, and owns Sumo Tyres and SSW light alloy rims as in-house brands.

Stamford Tyres can’t be beat when it comes to sheer convenience — there are a whopping 14 workshops found all over Singapore, so there’s a good chance you’ll find one near you.

But that’s not all. Through its Star Vans mobile service (tel: 8979 3355), you can opt to have Stamford Tyres come to you for tyre change or repairs, or if you find yourself stranded with a dead battery.

Yap Brothers offers a wide selection of car tyre brands, ranging from Continental, Bridgestone, Michelin and Firenza, to rarer brands such as Aplus, Kapsen and Pirelli. They are also the sole distributor of SSR-Wheels Japan, a leading producer of lightweight aluminium rims.

The company deals in both brand new as well as used tyres and rims, which means there’s a wide selection at various price points. This could be useful if you’re looking for an upgrade but don’t have a large budget to work with.

CLH Tyres Trading is a full-service car workshop located in the Bukit Batok area. The company has been in business for more than 20 years, and is a registered workshop under the Automobile Association of Singapore (AA-approved workshop).

Now, that last bit is interesting, because it means that if you’re an AA member, you can enjoy exclusive privileges when you send your car for servicing here. Some highlights are 20% off for tyres and rims, 10% off selected services, and a S$50 bundle for Nashin Big Brake Kits.

But non-AA members needn’t feel left out; for 2022, CLH Tyres is offering a free car servicing package when you purchase a set of four new tyres.

So what brands of tyres and rims can you find here? The workshop mainly focuses on Bridgestone, Yokohama, Kumho, GoodYear and Dunlop tyres, but has also expanded their range to include Roadstone, Achilles and others.

As for rims, CLH Tyres carries Veemann and 305 Forged Wheels brands.

There’s something to be said about investing in quality tyres and rims — you’ll derive higher satisfaction from your car, and may even head off or minimise problems further down the road.

If this describes your philosophy when it comes to your car, you might find a kindred spirit in Kim Hoe & Co. This company believes in ‘buy better, use longer’, and focuses on top quality, high performance tyres and rims, and also batteries and other accessories. They’ve been in business for over 40 years, so they might be onto something.

Some tyre brands you can find here are Pirelli, Michelin, GoodYear and Continental. Also offered are Inforged-brand rims, as well as replicas of popular premium models. They are also one of the few workshops to offer Varta car batteries, if you happen to be looking for one.

While good quality costs more, there are plenty of opportunities to save a buck or two. Kim Hoe & Co. regularly holds sales and discounts, allowing you to snap up original imported car tyres and rims at lower-than-market rates — if you’re speedy enough.
