The great thing is standalone bakers and restaurants are now allowed to operate even as essential shops continue to remain open through phase 3 of Singapore's re-opening.

Two Bakers

Be it individually-sized or customised fondant cakes, Two Bakers offers a wide range of them at reasonable prices. You will not find the usual chocolate, strawberry or vanilla cake flavours here. Instead, you will find flavours like goma (black sesame), matcha (green tea), yuzu lemon, coconut and Bailey’s tiramisu. Two Bakers also has hot meals as part of their cafe delivery menu, bar bites and drinks.

Plain Vanilla

Cupcakes count as cake, right? Plain Vanilla is a personal favourite because they are reasonably priced and aren’t as sweet as you would imagine a cupcake to be. With over 14 flavours that include vanilla bean, earl grey lavender, and cinnamon brown sugar to choose from — there will, definitely, be a couple of flavours that will tickle your recipient’s tastebuds.

Paris Baguette 

This Korean cafe may be better known for their pudding and soft breads, but they also bake a mean cake. Paris Baguette offers ready-made ones that include fresh cream, yogurt, cheesecake, chocolate fudge and chocolate mud pie. Although they may not offer as many flavours when compared to the rest on this list, they are a pretty good option if you need a cake delivered urgently.

Antoinette

Antoinette is a French pâtisserie that offers decadent and meticulously-decorated cakes — each looking like it was taken from an art exhibit. They offer both classic and unique cake flavours like rose, strawberry, yuzu and earl grey bubble tea. In addition to that, you can also add hot meals, bread, macarons, chocolate bon bons and cookies to your delivery order.

Edith Patisserie

I’ve been following them for the longest time, and I can attest that their cakes are not just Instagram-worthy, but also delicious. Edith Patisserie offers more than 25 cake flavours that include unique ones like peanut butter banana, speculoos chocolate, blueberry elderflower and honey chrysanthemum. Apart from that, they also make customised fondant and tiered cakes if you’re looking for something extra special.

Update: In accordance to government guidelines, Edith Patisserie has paused all orders and will resume accepting orders from 6 May onwards.

Whisk & Paddle

Agreed, it’s not exactly a cake shop but a cafe, which serves hot meals alongside individually-sized cakes that look too good to be eaten. Their cakes include earl grey milk chocolate, pineapple calamansi mousse and passionfruit meringue. Just one downside, they are situated at Punggol and do not make islandwide deliveries (lucky Punggol folks!).

Baker & Cook

Made with heart and honest ingredients, Baker & Cook may be better known for their pastries and breads, but their cakes are something to take note of as well. Apart from your classic chocolate and carrot cakes, Baker & Cook also offers gluten-free orange almond and orange lavender cakes — great for those watching their waistlines.
