DBS points can be redeemed online for rewards or converted into air miles. However, not every DBS card gives you DBS points. DBS Live Fresh, Takashimaya and Esso Cards are not eligible for earning DBS Points.
Although most DBS credit cards reward you with DBS points, keeping track of your rewards isn't always a straightforward affair. It's easy enough with cards such as the DBS Woman's World, which distributes its rewards to you in the form of DBS Points. For cards like the DBS Altitude American Express Card, however, you'll need to convert your miles to DBS Points. This works at a rate of 1 DBS Point to 2 air miles. Do note, however, that DBS Points are awarded in S$5 blocks. Another important thing to remember about DBS Points is that they have an expiry date of one year from the date it was earned.
You can choose to do this manually or sign up for DBS's KrisFlyer Miles Auto Conversion Programme, if you qualify. Manual points conversion will incur you an administrative fee of S$27.25 each time you convert your DBS Points to miles. Meanwhile, if you are a frequent flyer who wishes to automate this process, enrolling in the Programme will ensure your DBS Points are automatically converted each quarter in blocks of 500 DBS Points. Do note that this service will incur you an annual participation fee of S$43.60 for each successful conversion. This Programme is only available to DBS Insignia Card, DBS Black Treasures Elite Card or DBS Altitude Card Principal Cardmembers.
Snapping up rewards for e-vouchers, rebates and air miles has never been easier. Simply log into DBS digibank to browse the rewards redemption catalogue and add any items you wish to claim to your cart. Alternatively, you may use the DBS Rewards website or the DBS Lifestyle App on your mobile device to redeem your rewards points instead.

The minimum annual income for DBS credit cards vary. Most DBS credit cards have a S$30,000 minimum annual income requirement for Singapore Citizens and PRs. Exceptions do apply. For example, the DBS Live Fresh Student Card, which is catered to students, has no minimum annual income requirements. Meanwhile, the DBS Vantage Card has a minimum annual income of $120,000.
Anybody who meets the minimum annual income, age requirements and possesses the relevant documents are welcome to apply for a DBS credit card. Applying online with Singpass is easier than ever, since all the information required is usually stored in your MyInfo section.
SMS transaction alerts are a good way to keep track of your spending and staying on top of any suspicious transactions. Set up SMS transaction alerts via DBS digibank online by enabling alerts for your DBS credit card. Set a low threshold (S$1) if you want to be notified of every transaction.
You don't have to visit a bank to activate your credit card. All you need is your phone. Simply activate your DBS credit card via SMS by messaging "Activate Last 4 digits of Card” to 77767. Here's a sample of what your SMS might look like:
