How to claim

  1. Prepare all relevant supporting documents for online submission, including your passport and your travel itinerary.
  2. You will need to submit additional documents, which vary depending on the type of claim. For example, claims for medical expenses will require medical bills, receipts, medical report, patient discharge summary and a doctor’s memo.
  3. Submit your claim through the online claims portal within 30 days after the occurrence of the event which led to your claim.

Can I cancel my AIG Travel Insurance policy?

There will be no refund of premiums for per-trip policies once issued. For annual multi-trip policies, a short rate will be applied if the policy is cancelled within 9 months from the policy's issue date. This will not apply if a claim has been made. No refunds will be issued once it has been more than 9 months from the policy's effective date.

Can I extend my AIG Travel Insurance coverage if my trip is extended?

Yes, you may extend your policy unless you have made claims or are aware of reasons that might result in a loss under the policy. Applications must be made prior to the expiry date of your original policy and the total coverage period cannot exceed 182 days. You will also need to submit an online form and make payment for the additional premium.

Does AIG travel insurance cover pre-existing medical conditions?
