When preparing for a trip in this day and age, one of the top things to tick off your list is travel insurance. But where should you get travel insurance?

SingSaver cracks the code on where to buy travel insurance, including COVID-19 covers (we know the virus is becoming a distant ghost, but it’s still there and pretty creepy). We compare getting travel insurance from credit card rewards, airlines, and directly from an insurance provider to give you the best option.

How to get travel insurance from insurers, and what you need to do

The benefit of purchasing travel insurance online is that you can compare different insurers and their coverages at a glance.

To get an instant quote, you need to key in the following details:

  • Single-trip or Annual plan

Airlines

You may have seen offers of travel insurance packages while booking your flight tickets. That’s because some airlines forge partnerships with travel insurance companies.

Sure, it’s convenient to tick off an extra box and sign up with an airline, but it may not be the best travel insurance deal, especially compared to directly applying with an insurer. The airlines obtain part of the insurance price as commission whenever you sign up with them.

How does travel insurance coverage from airlines fare, though?
