Buffets, especially Japanese ones, might be on a slightly pricier side for the average Singaporean. The cheapest buffet on this entire list is Tenkaichi, which costs a very affordable S$14.90++ for its standard Japanese lunch buffet on Mondays to Fridays. The catch? You have to be either a student or senior citizen in order to be eligible for this deal.

However, the cost of the same buffet is pretty reasonable for adults too, going at only S$16.90++ per person. There are three types of buffet – standard, deluxe and premium. The deluxe menu features a wider range of sashimi, wagyu beef and black pork. The Cineleisure outlet also has a shabu shabu option for you to get your steamboat fix in. 

For those who are only available for dinner, you’ll be glad to know that the restaurant is also having a promotion where diners get 24% off the Deluxe Buffet and 39% off the Premium Buffet.

Suki-Ya, an affordable hotpot buffet chain ubiquitous in shopping malls in Singapore, needs no introduction. Its signature shabu-shabu is a must-try, and goes extremely well with their wide variety of free-flow side dishes, dipping sauces and soups. S$16.90++ is their after-school promotion but regular pricing is still decent at S$18.90++ for lunch on weekdays. 

Thinking about where to celebrate your birthday? Dine in at Suki-Ya to get a free meal with one paying customer! That’s essentially a one-for-one deal.

Depending on the time that you dine, you’ll enjoy different price points. Hot tip: dinner at 5pm is the most worthwhile as you save up to S$20++. 

For two hours, feast on true A5 Japanese Wagyu air-flown directly from Japan, as well as a variety of pork, chicken, lamb, seafood and vegetables. If you’re a sashimi lover, get free flow salmon, sweet shrimp, scallop and seasonal sashimi at just an additional S$10++. Top-up S$26++ to enjoy free flow beer that typically goes for S$6 per glass.

If you’re on a smaller budget, opt for the weekday standard buffet at S$58.80++ that includes Australia wagyu brisket and Australia wagyu cheek, along with over 70 other side dishes.

Calling all westies and yakiniku lovers! Located conveniently a stone throw away from Clementi MRT, Yakiniku Ohji lets you enjoy Wagyu beef grilled to perfection over charcoal fire. Besides a wide range of quality meat, they also offer up an extensive array of side dishes for you to munch on. Do note that there is a charcoal charge of S$2.50 per diner and a maximum of 12 dishes on the table to discourage food waste.

With classics such as California makis, ebiko sushi and spider temakis, it’s no wonder that Himawari Japanese Restaurant is a long-time favourite for many Japanese a la carte buffet lovers. The Himawari buffet is not to be missed! 

Himawari Japanese Restaurant is responsible for the salmon cake you must have seen floating around the internet. Called the Himawari Keki (sushi cake), it features layers of ‘cake’ made using fresh sashimi and Japanese rice.

One of the oldest Japanese a la carte buffets in Singapore, Shin Minori is located at UE Square and Katong Square. Their buffet menu features over 160 dishes that include sashimi, sushi of all types, teppanyaki, yakimono, tempura, ramen and more. With so many food options, this is definitely the place to go if you have picky eaters in your group or can’t quite decide where to bring the family.  

Shin Minori is most value-for-money during your birthday month, as you can get a free lunch buffet when you dine on Mondays to Fridays with a minimum of one paying adult. That’s as good as a 1-for-1 buffet! But if you can’t make time for this promotion, there’s another birthday deal that’s valid during dinner on Mondays to Thursdays at Katong Square — birthday peeps will receive a free bottle of wine and sushi cake with a minimum of two paying adults.

Thick cuts of fresh sashimi, sizzling sticks of yakimono, comforting seafood miso soup and jiggly chawanmushi topped with ikura are just some of the dishes you will find on Mitsuba’s extensive a la carte Japanese buffet menu. Conveniently located at Clarke Quay Central and reasonably priced at S$51.90++ (adult), S$26.90++ (children below 1.4m tall) and free for kids in baby chairs, Mitsuba is a popular buffet spot so we strongly recommend making a reservation. 

If you’re in the mood for some sake, opt for the Buffet Plus at S$73.90++, which includes free flow of cold beer and hot sake. 

The restaurant also has ongoing promotions such as the Lunch Special, where one person dines for free with every three paying adults. Every Monday, ladies enjoy 15% off on buffet dinner prices while NSMen enjoy 15% off on buffet dinner prices every Tuesday. 

Do note that there are two seatings for weekend and public holiday dinners: the first one is from 5.30pm to 7.55pm and the second is from 8pm to 10.30pm.
