UOB Lady’s Card and UOB Lady’s Solitaire used to fall under Tier 3. But with the new update, they've now been bumped up to Tier 4! Both cards now earn up to 15X UNI$ per S$5 spend (or 6 mpd).
The only difference is UOB Lady’s Card permits one category to earn this bonus rate, while UOB Lady’s Solitaire Card permits two categories – chosen at every quarter.
This enhanced rate is broken down into:
- 1X Base UNI$
- 9X Bonus UNI$
- 5X Additional Bonus UNI$ [NEW]
where the bonus 14X UNI$ rate is capped at UNI$2,800 (equivalent to S$1,000 spend) for UOB Lady's Card or UNI$8,400 (equivalent to S$3,000 spend) for UOB Lady's Solitaire Card.
Depending on what your spending habits are, the preferred 15X bonus category will look different for each cardholder.
Thus, they're both excellent cards for dedicated spending on everyday categories – for shopping, dining & food delivery, public transport & ride-hailing services, groceries, and more.

#2 Generous bonus rate spend cap
Furthermore, both UOB Lady’s Card and UOB Lady’s Solitaire Card have generous bonus rate spend caps (per calendar month) of S$1,000 and S$3,000 respectively.
To reiterate, these spend caps apply to their bonus earn rates.
Meaning, once their respective spend caps are hit for the month, you’ll no longer earn bonus 15X UNI$ (6 mpd). Instead, the rate will be reduced back to the base 1X UNI$ (0.4 mpd), despite it being a bonus category.
That said, there is no spend cap on base miles earn rates – so you'll always be able to earn some miles at least.

#3 Up to US$100,000 complimentary travel insurance
If you refer to our comparison table above, this is one of the main perks the UOB Lady’s Solitaire Card has over the UOB Lady’s Card.
Under this travel insurance policy, cardholders can expect:
- Up to US$100,000 overseas medical expenses coverage for both sickness and injury
- Emergency medical evacuation/return of mortal remains
- Up to US$100 in-hospital cash benefit per day
- Up to US$100 overseas COVID-19 diagnosis quarantine allowance
Since travelling has been back in full swing for a while now, everyone has been redeeming their miles accumulated since lockdown days. While there’s nothing wrong with buying travel insurance separately, having separate existing coverage definitely removes one less burden from your travel checklist.
However, do be cautious when buying travel insurance as a top-up to things like air tickets. Though you might be paying a low premium, it might not offer the specific coverage you need like protecting camera equipment, laptops, phones, and others.
💡 Pro-tip: Purchase travel insurance with coverage for frequent flyer miles and points. This keeps your miles protected in the event of any unforeseen circumstances.

#5 Up to S$200,000 female cancer insurance coverage
Unlike the DBS Woman’s and DBS Woman’s World Card, the UOB Lady’s series of cards are specifically only for ladies. Men are not eligible to apply.
However, there’s a good reason for this.
Signing up for any of the cards in the UOB Lady’s series entitles cardholders to female cancer coverage based on your UOB Lady’s Savings Account.
Apart from earning 0.05% p.a. interest on all balances, it also provides up to S$200,000 female cancer coverage based on the accrued balance. Women up to 55 years old are allowed to apply for this account.
What’s more, medical consultations are available for as low as S$13 at over 500 clinics islandwide, extendable to four dependents. Every accountholder also has access to a free health screening every year.
This coverage is guaranteed upon opening the account, without any prior medical assessment or declaration.
💡 Pro-tip: All of the UOB Lady’s Cards can also be paired with the UOB One Account. Spend a minimum of S$500 monthly and credit a minimum S$1,600 monthly salary to earn at least 3.85% p.a. interest easily.
The maximum attainable interest earned in the UOB One Account is 7.8% p.a. on balances between S$75,000 and S$100,000.

How to calculate UNI$?
Now, this is a question specific to UOB credit cards, but it’s an essential query to address.
When are UNI$ usually credited?
Base 1X UNI$: Credited when transactions post, usually within 1 - 3 working days Bonus 9X UNI$: Credited by end of the following calendar month |
The base 1X UNI$ per S$5 spend is credited when the transaction posts, usually within one to three working days. Subsequently, the bonus 9X UNI$ per S$5 spend will be credited by the end of the calendar month after the transaction.
UNI$ are calculated in blocks of S$5, rounded down to the nearest S$5. However take note, the bonus UNI$ points are only calculated once, and not per transaction.
Here are some calculations to illustrate:
Spend amount
|
Base 1X UNI$

Bonus 9X UNI$

S$4.99

Step #1
$4.99 + $5.99 + $14.99 + $15.99 + $20.99 = S$62.95 ≈ S$60 (rounded down to nearest S$5) Step #2 S$60 / S$5 = 12X rate Step #3 12 x 9X UNI$ = 108X UNI$ |

Total UNI$ points earned

In total, this cardholder will earn 118X UNI$; and since 1 UNI$ = 2 miles, this is equivalent to 236 miles. Basically, as long as you round down your transactions to the nearest S$5 block, calculating your base and bonus UNI$ shouldn’t be too much of a problem.
Admittedly, UOB’s approach to calculating UNI$ points earned is on the trickier and more troublesome side. But is it enough of a deterrence to convince you against getting a UOB Lady Card for yourself?
That is up to you to decide.
For whom is the UOB Lady’s Card & UOB Lady’s Solitaire Card best for?
So far, it seems that the UOB Lady’s Card and UOB Lady’s Solitaire Card are simply great for women overall. Offering up to 6 mpd and impressive coverage for both travel insurance and female cancer, what else should we look out for?
