5 Ways a Sentosa Islander Membership Can Help You Save While Having Fun

#1 Free membership

You know what they say, “The best things in life are free”. A good example of that - free memberships.

Compared to other membership rewards programmes, you can enjoy Sentosa Islander membership if you're 15 years old and above.

This makes the membership incredibly accessible for teenagers because, unlike most memberships, you don’t need to wait till 18 years old.

Teens can start enjoying Sentosa perks and promos early on and practically get a head-start on racking up points to further redeem more perks in the future.

#2 Free complimentary vouchers

What’s better than free membership? Free complimentary vouchers upon registration, of course!

Yes, you read that right. Upon signing up for an Islander account, your account will automatically be rewarded with a slew of free vouchers at your fingertips without even spending a dime yet.

In the app, you can find vouchers for complimentary extended hotel stays, activity and F&B discounts, 1-for-1 bar deals, spa promos, and much more.

For those planning a quick staycation getaway, you can redeem free breakfast, refreshments, and S$100 dining credits at The Barracks Hotel Sentosa or enjoy a complimentary 3rd-night stay in the Deluxe Room at Siloso Beach Resort.

If you prefer activities, you can charter a yacht for up to 18 pax with a minimum of 10 paying guests at White Sails Yacht or go on a perfume date at a 1-for-1 perfume workshop at Scentopia.

And once you’re all tuckered out from a whole day of fun and relaxation, it’s time to satisfy your cravings with these delectable 1-for-1 dining deals and discounted promos at the best restaurants and bars that Sentosa has to offer.

As it seems, Sentosa is really your oyster when you have an Islander Membership. And the best part is, all these free vouchers will help you get more bang for your buck for both you and your accompanying guests – so it’s truly fun for the whole family and friends!

#3 Free Sentosa Island admission

By now, you’ve probably heard that Sentosa has reinstated the entry fees for its Sentosa Gantry and Sentosa Express into the island.

For those driving in, Sentosa gantry fee is either S$2 or S$6 per car depending if it’s peak or non-peak period. On the other hand, those travelling into Sentosa by the Sentosa Express will be charged a standard fee of S$4 – unless you’re a student/senior citizen, then it’s only S$2.

What a good deal!

But if you have Insider or Priority status, these fees wouldn’t be a concern at all.

As an Islander Insider or Priority member, you’re entitled to free entry to Sentosa Island all year round regardless of whether you drive in or take the monorail.

#4 Earn rewards points for every dollar spent

As with every membership rewards programme, Sentosa Islander rewards members with 1 point per S$1 spent with a minimum of S$20 on every receipt

This means that effectively, you’ll be earning at least 20 points per transaction.

While signing up for the basic Islander Explorer membership is free, members will need 400 points for Islander Insider and 5,000 points for Islander Priority. But before you get intimidated by those numbers, allow us to break down the figures for you in simple, S$20 receipts.

Tier upgrade
Minimum spend
No. of S$20 transactions needed
Islander Explorer → Islander Insider
S$400
20 x S$20 receipts
Islander Insider → Islander Priority
S$5,000
250 x S$20 receipts

Based on these transaction breakdowns, upgrading your Islander Membership tier seems more feasible now, doesn’t it? After all, spending S$20 within a single receipt is quite an easy amount to hit – for example, a regular lunch or dinner out with friends or family.

But if you’re still not convinced, here’s a scenario:

Imagine you’re basking in the warm glow of sunset hour, sipping on a refreshing margarita, and chowing down on some yummy Italian grub at Trapizza. This is how much you can expect your bill to add up to for a table of two…

S$18 x 2 glasses = S$36
Total = S$172.26 (incl. GST & service charge)

Your total will be S$172.26, which converts to roughly 172 points in this single transaction alone. You’d be almost halfway to an Islander Insider tier upgrade already!

So what’s the moral of the story here? Just plan and enjoy your usual experiences and activities and you’ll be bumped up to Islander Insider in no time!

In turn, these points accumulated will contribute towards exclusive rewards. For instance, Islander Priority members can redeem their 5,000 points for an extra night stay at either Oasia Resort Sentosa or Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa, so you can think of this as paying your future staycation forward.

Lastly, all points earned are valid for one year.

Note: The maximum number of points you can earn in a day is 600 points, which is equivalent to S$600 spend. So keep in mind, you won’t be able to leap in membership from Islander Explorer to Islander Priority straight in one day.

#5 Redeem cash vouchers across many participating outlets

While we appreciate exclusivity in membership perks, we also appreciate versatility in rewards redemptions. The points you accumulate can be used to redeem cash vouchers worth S$5, S$10, or S$50.

These cash vouchers are eligible for use across 67 participating outlets in Sentosa including restaurants, bars, hotels, and experiences. Below are some examples of what you can expect:

And the list goes on…

Note: Some outlets do not accept cash vouchers. They only contribute towards earning points for your spending.
