Coverage for personal accidents
As much as you would want to avoid it, accidents do happen from time to time, and it is especially scary when it happens overseas in an unfamiliar place.
This is when personal accident coverage can at least provide you with some financial assistance to get you through.
What’s unique about Seedly Travel Insurance is that the sum insured remains the same, regardless of whether you purchase an Individual Plan or a Family Plan as you may realise that there is no overall benefit limit on Family Plans.
This means that children and adults get the same amount of coverage, and there is no cap on the sum insured.

Coverage for trip inconveniences and baggage
If you’re faced with any trip inconveniences and require any alteration to your trip duration, know that you are sufficiently covered for.
The same goes if your baggage is lost, delayed or stolen. It can be very scary if you happen to lose your whole baggage while you’re overseas — it would mean not having any of your clothes and personal essentials with you, which may sometimes include your valuables.
If that happens, rest assured that you can at least get some compensation.

Family-centric benefits
While this plan caters to the needs of all travellers, it proves particularly advantageous for families with children.
Primarily, the plan includes complimentary coverage for up to four children when selecting the Family Plan (just indicate the number of adults and kids when purchasing). This eliminates the need for additional payments to ensure coverage for your kids, unlike some other plans in the market.
Furthermore, the Child Support Grant ensures financial assistance for children in the unfortunate event of the insured individual passing away during the trip, leaving dependents behind.
An additional benefit is the Child Companion Benefit, which provides reimbursement of travel expenses for one adult to travel to the destination country and bring a child home. This benefit applies in cases where the insured sustains an injury or falls ill while abroad, resulting in hospitalisation, and is accompanied by a child who would otherwise be left unattended.

Should I buy Seedly Travel Insurance? Pros and cons
Pros
|
Cons
|
Complimentary coverage for up to 4 children under Family Plan
|
No coverage for extreme sports like bungee jumping and rafting
|
COVID-19 coverage included
|
Lower-than-average overseas medical expenses coverage
|
Affordable premiums
|
|
Family-centric benefits, ideal for families
|
Aside from it being a family-friendly travel insurance plan by offering complimentary coverage for children and family-centric benefits, the great thing about this plan is that it offers COVID-19 coverage, meaning you won’t have to pay extra for it!
The premiums are also generally affordable if you compare them to other travel insurance plans. Psst, make sure to always take advantage of the ongoing promotions to slash premium prices!
Though Seedly Travel Insurance offers coverage for adventure sports like scuba diving, mountaineering and hiking, these are the only sports that they cover. Extreme sports like bungee jumping, jet skiing and rafting are not included, and there’s no option to add as a rider either.
Furthermore, the plan only offers up to S$500,000 overseas medical expenses coverage for their highest-tier plan, which is lower than average than other travel insurance policies in the market. They do, however, offer medical expenses coverage when you arrive back in Singapore, and even TCM treatment, which some plans do not offer.
